Annie Darling is a renowned encaustic and mixed-media artist. Many of Ms. Darling’s works are abstractions of the natural world. Her use of the encaustic medium, involving heated beeswax combined with colored pigments, adds subtle textures and organic forms to the finished artwork. Annie Darling Artist Statement: I love creating abstract art because it is all about the process. I don’t try to send my paintings in a specific direction; instead, they shape themselves. As a fine artist, I feel it is my duty or calling to allow the work to become what it wants to be. I am influenced by my surroundings, by what I see, and by what I hear. With all my senses engaged, the experience of the moment finds its way into my thoughts and suffuses itself in the work.
