Description
Stephen SoulDuster, an expressionist artist, paints experiences. Every painting in his Painted Stories collection tells a story. The paintings are often layered with related songs or poems to give the paintings added dimensions.
Frank Sinatra’s song offered the perfect setting for this painting. “But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up, and spit it out. I faced it all, and I stood tall, and did it my way.” Life is full of trade-offs. But we often have to make decisions without full knowledge. Much like the little kid here, packing all he has into his little bag, goes out on his own, knows the ugly journey, thus sings the old man’s swan song.
